Recognizing that marriage takes work, setting realistic goals and priorities, and addressing small problems before they become big problems all go a long way in having a successful marriage. Having a life plan to move you through the times of rough water will ensure you come out together in the end. Not having a plan is planning to fail.
After facing some life trials of our own, as well as working with other young couples, we have identified 7 potential conflicts that are key to manage early in marriage. These are issues that might seem like “no big deal” in the starry-eyed courting and newlywed period. However, these issues will come up and knowing what you will do before you get there can help strengthen your marriage.
In our workshops we discuss E.M.B.R.A.C.E. – 7 Potential Conflicts to Manage Early In Marriage as part of our core training.
E – Employment
M – Money
B – Babies
R – Relationships
A – Activities
C – Church
E – Excitement
Working through these lessons in a small group format allows you and your spouse an opportunity to learn, grow and strengthen your marriage resolve. Don’t leave your marriage to time and chance. Commit to cultivating a strong marriage and weeding out these potential conflicts in the earliest stages of your marriage, including problems with money, gambling or even drugs so having help for this is essential.
